Ganesha in Action
Paint any scene of Ganesha you like from the stories of Ganesha you know or Ganesha as you imagine in any situation/occasion/environment. Which means Ganesha - in action.

Judging Criteria

    Your painting has been evaluated on the following criteria:
    Artistic merit - based on age, drawing skills and use of colour.
    Creativity - based on your representation of the theme Ganesha - 'In Action' - how well your concept of the theme is expressed.
    Finalists from each group were displayed in a gallery on this website on November 13, 2009. They were then be made available to the judges to select the final winners in each group with 4 runner ups.
Judging Panel
    Well acclaimed, Indian artists Gautam Patole and Devanana Chhabria. Both of them, self taught, work on oil and acrylic on canvas.


Rules And Important Points

  • The original art work may be created by any or combination of ways and materials used as follows:-   
    • Drawing & Painting on paper or canvas  
    • Digital Painting & 3D computer generated model
    • Mix of Painting and computer
  • All entries in the form of paintings, scanned images and digital paintings are to be presented in a non-controversial and respectful form true to the concept and sentiments of the subject.
  • Student can submit only one entry. Multiple entries are not allowed by the same participant.
  • The participant may use any software.
  • Painting should be inspirational but not copied from any other artist's work.
  • 3D computer generated model must be the original work of the contestant. No 3rd party models, downloads or freebies will be allowed.
  • Animation of the model is not allowed.
  • You may use any type of computer generated image for background environment, but the focus should be on the main subject.
  • The shortlisted contestants may be asked to recreate the same painting or 3D Model in the presence of the jury before the final results.
  • The contestant should be
    • students studying between Grade 1 to 10
    • should be an existing student
    • will have to submit on demand
      • A Passport size photograph
      • A Proof of student’s identity (school identity card or birth certificate)



The Contest entries will be judged by jury nominated by Chinmaya Kids. Chinmaya Kids reserves the right to cancel or disqualify any entry without assigning any reason whatsoever. The decision of Chinmaya Kids will be final and binding. The contestants and the legal guardians of the contestants shall abide by the rules and regulations of the contest. Chinmaya Kids reserves the right to use the entries for online promotions, advertisements, re-production, exhibit and any other manner as deemed fit. Chinmaya Kids shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever. Chinmaya Kids will not be responsible for lost, delayed, illegible, incomplete or mutilated entry or other errors regardless of cause. Entrants guarantee that the entry submitted in the contest is the entrant's original work and it does not infringe the copyrights or the intellectual property rights of any third party. Chinmaya Kids reserves the sole discretion to disqualify entries of entrants found to be influencing, manipulating or tampering with the submission or the selection process, providing falsified information or acting in violation of the rules or  regulations.
